This book grew from the little moments when Penny showed us exactly who she was—in the ways she communicated, found comfort, noticed the world, and made joy entirely her own. We stopped asking those moments to look different and started seeing the wonder already there.
That is why autism is never explained or labeled inside the story. Penny simply gets to be Penny.
